Choral speaking with 3RD Stage an over 50s group who meet and do various activities at The Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield.

Today Naomi took the group right back to where choral speaking and indeed theatre all began with the ancient greeks, animating a choral ode from Sophocles “Antigone.”

The group experiment with soundscapes, moving in unison and delivering lines while experimenting with volume, tone, pitch and emotion.

Naomi enjoyed working with an adult group and is pleased that the group run themselves and are self directed. It’s good when a group has autonomy rather than someone coming along and trying to get people to engage in an existing project-especially in the case of adults…
